Big Sweeper Rules

1. All bowlers must be at least 18 years of age, or have signed parental permission.
2. No professional bowler with a national championship title ever or 4 or more regional titles since January 1, 2005 is allowed to bowl. No PBA tour exempt bowlers allowed.
3. Each bowler will bowl 3 qualifying games. 1 in 2 bowlers will advance to single game elimination play.
4. Bowlers surviving the cut will be allowed one (1) practice ball on each lane of their first match play pair. This will be the last practice allowed.
5. Your highest average of 21 games or more for the 2007-08 season will be used, unless the current season 2008-09 your average for at least 21 games is 10 pins higher, then this year's average will be used. The Pyramid Sweeper director reserves the right to re-rate, refuse, or reject ANY bowler at any time.
6. Averages will be re-rated after 9 games bowled in the Pyramid Sweeper, or bowling in the finals, whichever comes first. A bowlers average will be re-rated down no more than 10 pins from entering average. Once a Pyramid Sweeper average has been established it will be adjusted after each time a bowler bowls in a Pyramid Sweeper.
7. Handicap will be 80% of 215. Maximum handicap per game will be men 40 and women 60 per game.
8. Games bowled more than 40 pins under a bowlers entering average will not be figured in for handicap purposes.
9. a two frame roll off (9th and 10th) will decide all ties, with handicaps prorated accordingly.
10. A bowler may not switch hands during competition. Whichever hand a bowler starts competition with must be used the rest of the tournament. (With the exception of an injury, at the discretion of the Sweeper director) Failure to do so will result in a zero for each frame of illegal delivery.
11. The Pyramid Sweeper shall abide by the current USBC rule book. All rules are final, and the decisions of the Pyramid Sweeper director are final.
